Initialize or Modify the Access Type Associated with a Line

In the Inventory Management module, a user can choose the access type associated with a line.

Once the access type has been defined by the user, the access type is no longer synchronized with the billing data. However, the user retains the ability to modify the access type as many times as desired.

This document summarizes the different methods to lock the access type of a line.

• Modify the access type of an existing line from the fleet line record
• Initialize the access type when manually creating a line in the fleet
• Initialize the access type when creating a line through fleet import

Modify the access type of an existing line from the inventory line record:

1. Go to the Management - Inventory Management module
2. Search for your line using the various search tools provided
3. Click on the line number to access the Line Record
4. In the "Line Information" section, under "General," you will find the fields Segment and Access Types

5. You have the option to modify the segment and the access type of the line by simply clicking in the relevant fields.

• The Segment field offers the values: Data, Fixed, Mobile
• The Access Type field is conditioned by the list of accesses offered by default on the selected segment, in addition to the custom access types that have been created on this segment at the root level.

6. Confirm your modification to update the information: 

Initialize the access type when manually creating a line in the inventory: 

1. Go to the Management - Inventory Management module

2. In the Scope section, select the Management Group in which you want to add your line:

   

3. Click on the + at the bottom right of the screen, then select Line: 

   

4. Fill in the required fields including the Segment and Access Type fields: 

   

• The Segment field offers the values: Data, Fixed, Mobile
• The Access Type field is conditioned by the list of accesses offered by default on the selected segment, in addition to the custom access types that have been created on this segment at the root level.

5. Submit the record to create the line with its customized access type.

Initialize the access type when creating a line through fleet import:  

1. Go to the Management - Inventory Management module
2. In the Scope section, select the Management Group in which you want to add your line:

5. To determine the Segment and Access Type of a line, fill in the corresponding columns.

• The Segment column offers the values: Data, Fixed, Mobile
• The Access Type column is free text. If you enter an access type that does not exist in your root, it will be imported and created for your root. It will then be available in the Account Management - Customization module if you wish to edit it.

6. Import the matrix.
