This article explains how to configure points A and B (endpoints of a communication link).
Points A and B of a link are found on the line record in the "Cabling / Extension" section.
For this section to be visible on the line record, the line must have the following characteristic (in the "Line Information" section):
- Segment = "Data"
The "Cabling / Extension" section presents a part concerning Point A, and another specific to Point B
The locatio indicated for Point A corresponds to the site linked to the line from the Asset Management module (the location associated with the line from asset management is directly synchronized with Point A of the line).
Point B must be entered directly in the Point B fields from the line record.
- Click in the "Assigned Locations" field
- Select a location from the proposed list (list of locations associated with the management group in the "Account Management" module).
3. The field updates and the link now has a configured Point B:
If the location you want to associate does not exist at the root or management group, you can create it by clicking on the site creation icon :
This only works if the user is subscribed to the "Account Management" module.
If the line type is changed and no longer offers points A and B, note that the data is not lost. Point A remains the site linked to the line in the asset management, and Point B remains stored in the database.
Please note that if there is only one site associated with the management group in the “Account Management” module, that site will be automatically associated with item B of the eligible lines.
