Understand how the sites in the inventory can be managed |
A site in mytem360 is characterized, among other things, by a site name and an address.
Just like the employee, the equipment, the line or the sim, the site is considered as a unique object in the inventory.
As a reminder, a phone line in the inventory is made up of assignments to other objects such as employee, device, sim, etc. A single assignment of these objects make up what we call a "group of dependancies" or a cluster of objects assigned together.
Since a site is considered an object, a dependency group can only be associated with one unique physical site.
In other words, the site in mytem360 is not independently linked to a device, a line, or an employee, but is linked to a group of dependencies.
When one object in a dependency group is associated with a site, all objects belonging to its group are altogether associated to the site.
It is not possible for two objects in the same dependency group to have two different sites.
This approach makes it manageable for cases in which an employee has devices belonging to several physical sites:
Let's take the example above. The same mobile employee, working on 2 different sites and with different devices on each site, will be :
- associated to his MICROSOFT SURFACE PRO computer in the Boston site (whose unique site ID is BOSTN1867).
- associated with his MACBOOK PRO M1 in the Michigan site (whose unique site ID is MICHGN3988).
DISPLAY THE FIELDS OF THE "SITE" SECTION IN THE INVENTORY GRID
The table below shows the fields of the Site section that you can choose to display. They can be updated while you create the site for the first time, or from the site's information page (see further below).
For instructions on how to display the "Site" field and any other field in the "Site" section, click on this link.
THE DETAILED SITE INFORMATION PAGE
You will acess the site information sheet by clicking on the site name in the inventory.
THE SITE IN THE DETAILED EMPLOYEE, EQUIPMENT, LINE AND SIM FILES
The "Site" section of the "Employee", "Equipment", "Line" and "Sim" files can be consulted in read-only mode. It is not possible to edit the "Site" section from these records. This can be done using the actions proposed in the inventory grid or through the visual representation of the items in the grid.
This section allows you to find the general information (on each of the respective files)
- the site(s) and location(s) assigned to the employee
- the site and location assigned to the equipment, line or sim
Example on the employee record:
The employee has devices on 2 sites and is therefore associated with 2 sites. This information can be found in the field "Associated sites (2)" . Clicking on the bar shows both sites:
ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE FROM THE INVENTORY TABLE
By clicking at any level (other than underlined link) of the line of the table containing the group of dependencies you wish to edit: the actions enabled for your login and which are available according to the status of your objects, are presented.
Since the site is considered as an object, all the actions available and related to the site appear :
- in the site column :
- Assign a site
- Unassign a site
- Replace a site
- Assign a spot
- Assign an additional employee
- Assign an additional device
- ...
- in the other columns, to assign a site with the group of dependencies concerned, for example, if this is not already done:
