|Understand why notifications cannot be edited|
What kind of notification Datalert app is sending?
When a user goes over a policy threshold, the app displays a notification (one for roaming, one for domestic upon the situation). The message includes period, usage, cap and threshold.
In the back end the SMS is going out as soon as it receives the information.
Also when the user is entering a roaming zone, the app displays also a local notification that includes: zone and usage zone cap.
Can we edit notification content?
Datalert sends messages to end users. Depending on the situation those messages can be SMS, email or notification. We can only edit/write SMS/emails messages in Datalert and not the notifications. Why?
To understand better, Apple allows only a 4KB message as a notification. So the content of the notification messages is formated by Datalert to be understandable and light enough to respect Apple rules. If the message is too long, Apple cuts the message.
This is why we cannot send a notification with a free text to the iPhones/iPads.
