Datalert measures Data usage on a mobile device.
The main screen allows seeing current data usage against the plan allowance at a glance. It is possible to display data usage:
- For the current month (billing cycle)
- For the current week
- For the current day
Also possible to get detail:
- For domestic usage
- For roaming usage
- For wifi usage
If on the cycle there are bell icons, they are usage threshold. You will receive a message to alert you about your usage level. They are set by your organization.
Roaming usage is measured by zone because rates can vary a lot from one zone to another.
This icon indicates an extended domestic zone. That means that in this zone you are using your domestic allowance. If you tape on it, Datalert will display the zone rate details.
This icon indicates that the displayed zone is not the zone you are in. If you tape on it will display the zone you are in.
This button displays several zones at the same time.
To display the settings you need to go into the menu.
Settings show mobile plan information. A sub-menu displays details about roaming zones.

Important information about Datalert smooth operation
To be able to make you aware of your data usage, Datalert needs to be always working in the background. Datalert is designed to preserve your battery life.
For Datalert to be efficient you need to:
- Accept notification for Datalert
- Accept geolocalization (even if Datalert doers do not make possible geolocalization)
- Re-launch Datalert when you get alerted that it has been de-activated by the OS.
Why my OS would de-activated Datalert?
Your device OS can need some resources (memory, computing) not available upon the device activity. In such a case, the OS can de-activate the application running in the background. This can happen with Datalert too and it gets de-activated by the OS. To re-launch you only need to open the Datalert.
