Optimizing Datalert background activity for iOS |
-----
Requirements
In order to work properly Datalert needs:
- Datalert needs to run in the background
- Datalert needs to receive and send notifications
Here is information you should know to understand how iOS is dealing with background activity on iPhones and iPads.
Background deactivation
iOS can decide to de-activate any application running in the background at any time without warning. If Depending on your device activity, if iOS needs memory, processor to run, it will start doing that. Any application can be targeted (Skype, Teams, Maps, Waze, Datalert...).
In such a case the application will appear in the background as if it is working properly, but it is not.
Datalert will still be working but in degraded mode. That means that the device will send usage meter information but at a slower pace. Every hour or so vs every 15 minutes.
This is why depending on the policy set on Datalert portal, you might receive emails waning email to inform you of the situation. You just need to re-open Datalert to fix it.
